Houston apartment-living collegiates wanting to have a fun night out are not without their choice of options. There are plenty of bars, clubs, venues and pubs to spend your time at around the Rice Village, and plenty more just a short drive away, but where do you go when you don't feel like a big trip to the heart of the city, but still want to dance your booty off? Well, just down the road is the Gatsby Social Club, one of the best places in Houston to shake it til the break of the dawn, and enjoy a great cocktail while you do it. All the hottest young college folks make it out to this 20s style dance hall, and they're all dressed to impressed. You'll feel like a star the moment you walk in the door, especially if you pay up and get yourself on 'the list', and get escorted to your table, where you can watch all the pretty young people dance, while enjoying a few drinks and getting ready to cut a rug yourself. The feel is strictly late 20s, with frosted glass covered in skyscrapers, and all the jackets and dresses which make you feel like you fell out of the book after which the place is named. It's far and away different from any place you're likely to end up on a night out. Though the place is known for its Trance and Dance tunes, many nights throughout the week they change things up. Thursday is their 'unofficial' Asian night, while Friday nights usually hold a special place as their Latin night, though every other Friday they hold special theme nights that are always up in the air, which include fun parties nights, such as pajama night or masquerade night. For a discount on admission and drinks, make sure to show up on industry night Tuesday nights. If you're looking for a place to dance in the Rice area, you won't find a better place than The Gatsby Social Club. It's a classy, upscale dance hall that's quite different from what many Houston apartment-ites are used to, and keeps on surprising right until the very end.
